Revolutionizing dental healthcare in Jamaica: Cutting-Edge Imaging Solutions
CEDI Europe has recently successfully delivered and installed state-of-the-art imaging equipment across five health centres in Jamaica. This achievement was made possible through our collaboration with the Ministry of Health, our local agent, and esteemed manufacturer CRCB-PACS B.V.
Project background
This project was part of the “Support for The Health System Strengthening for The Prevention and Care Management of Non-Communicable Disease Programme”, co-funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and European Union. The programme aims to enhance diagnostic services in Jamaica, enabling early detection and improved management of non-communicable diseases. CEDI Europe supplied a range of cutting-edge imaging equipment, including 3 CBCT/Dental X-Ray systems, 8 radiological viewing stations, 4 mini PACS servers and 5 handheld ultrasound machines.
CRCB-PACS, headquartered in the Netherlands, contributed to this project by supplying advanced viewing stations and PACS servers, optimizing image reviewing capabilities, storage, retrieval, and distribution, to improve workflow within and across the healthcare facilities.
A collaborative success
The successful execution of this project is a result of strong collaboration. Our local agent provided essential local expertise and on-site technical support, ensuring a smooth integration of all equipment supplied by CEDI Europe. Meanwhile, CRCB-PACS leveraged its deep knowledge of medical imaging solutions to deliver not only high-performance equipment but also comprehensive software integration and technical assistance, which perfectly complemented our local agent’s technical knowledge and efforts.
Shaping the future with AI-driven PACS solutions
Looking ahead, CRCB-PACS continues to innovate with the introduction of a cost-effective, cloud-based PACS solution specifically designed for groups of small clinics in developing countries, enabling them to share a single PACS server while reducing costs and enhancing accessibility. Through this innovation, medical imaging data can be managed centrally from one clinic.
Moreover, CRCB-PACS is at the forefront of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its PACS solutions. Future projects may already benefit from the new AI feature, including:
- Faster diagnoses: AI algorithms quickly analyze imaging data, enabling radiologists to identify critical findings more efficiently.
- Enhanced accuracy: AI assists in detecting subtle abnormalities, reducing the margin for diagnostic errors.
- Improved workflow efficiency: Automated features optimize image sorting, prioritization, and reporting.
- Remote Access: AI-driven PACS systems enable radiologists to consult from anywhere. Through this innovation, medical imaging data can be managed centrally from one clinic.
As AI-driven solutions continue to develop, CEDI Europe remains committed to enhance patient care worldwide through innovative solutions in collaboration with its partners.
